About a week ago, Rockstar Games rolled credits on GTA 5 and GTA Online with a heartwarming thank you page. GTA 5 has undoubtedly been one of the best open-world games around. It will turn nine years old next week on September 17.

But now Rockstar is moving on to greater things. We’ve been hearing leaks about GTA 6 for quite some time, and it looks like Rockstar is finally focusing all of its development power on it.

Text that reads "Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online represent the combined efforts of our global team over many years. We want to ackowledge and thank everyone who has contributed to these games, from their original launch in 2013 all the way through the present day."

On September 6, Red Dead Redemption received an update. The Red Dead Online update was surprisingly big, altering about 5GB of game files. It fixed many glitches and bugs that users have faced for a long time. Besides that, the update also added three new telegram missions to give users a fresh game experience.

The patch notes also include, “A link to the credits has been added to the pause menu,” the link displays a heartfelt note similar to the GTA 5 thank you page.

“Our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has helped create Red Dead Redemption 2 and Red Dead Online

This means that Rockstar games have officially bid farewell to both GTA 5 and RDR2. Now that Rockstar fully pays attention to GTA 6, we expect to see more game development updates shortly.

So far, we already have the first leaked screenshot of GTA 6, and we also know that the game will not feature three playable characters. But, there has been a lack of official announcements from Rockstar Games.

There also have been no comments or hints from Rockstar on when we can expect the release of GTA 6, but based on previous releases and leaks, we expect the game to be released by late 2024 or early 2025.
