PlayStation 5 Breaks All Time PlayStation Sales Record For February In US

New Record For PlayStation!

PlayStation 5 has now broken the all-time PlayStation record for sales in the US in the month of February. This was reported by video game industry analyst Mat Piscatella, who tweeted the figures.

In the first two months of 2023 in the United States, the PlayStation 5 has outperformed all other gaming consoles in terms of both units sold and USD generated. Specifically, in February, the PlayStation 5 sold more than 533,000 units, surpassing the previous record held by the PlayStation 2 in February 2005.

Sony is forecasting the biggest Q1 for any console in the history of the US. PlayStation 5 is now also the best-selling console in the US for several months. This shows that PlayStation 5 continues to be gamers’ first priority when buying consoles in the US.

These sales numbers are expected to increase as the console is now widely available for purchase and also due to the highly anticipated upcoming releases of PlayStation’s first-party IPs such as Spider-Man 2 and Final Fantasy 16.

The PlayStation 5 shortage is finally over after three long years. First launched in November, the PlayStation 5 was difficult to obtain for over a year. Previously, in January, Sony also published a blog post claiming that the PS5 global shortage won’t be an issue anymore.

The analyst also tweeted figures for February’s top 20 sold games in the US. Hogwarts Legacy took first place, with the recent Call of Duty title and Dead Space Remake following behind.
