Premium Editions of GTA 6, Wolverine, and Halo: CE Are Selling More Than Base Editions!

Story Highlight
  • Data suggests that players prefer to buy the more expensive premium game editions.
  • The premium editions of GTA 6, Wolverine, and Halo are all selling more than the base.
  • This comes despite the uproar that games are now too expensive for general players.

Game pricing has been a big debate in the industry. Fans argue that $70 is a decent price tag, but come GTA 6, major AAA titles could cost $80. However, despite the uproar, the prices don’t seem to bother players too much, according to data.

On the PlayStation Store, if we head over to the top-selling titles in multiple regions, we can see that players are more inclined toward the more expensive and premium game editions. This trend is highly recurring as well.

Why it matters: The premium editions usually come with additional perks like pre-order bonuses or even early access to certain titles. So, it seems that for the extras, fans don’t really mind paying the higher prices

PS Store listings for most pre-ordered titles showcase a visible trend: gamers prefer buying the more expensive versions. Currently, titles like the premium editions of GTA 6, Wolverine, and Halo: CE are charting above the regular ones.

Players were furious at the prospect of the $80 pricing. However, as we see from the sellers’ list, the $100 variant is selling even more. We also saw a similar trend for other recent titles like Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced.

The more expensive game editions are tracking higher than base editions

There is a big trope in gaming that players often criticize things online, but don’t really resort to things that can help avoid them. The same seems true for game prices, and the same has been true for digital game sales.
