Only Success Ubisoft Had This Decade Is With A AA Game

Story Highlight
  • Ubisoft, once a pioneer of open-world games with franchises like Far Cry and Assassin’s Creed, has experienced a sharp decline. Its expensive AAA and AAAA releases have become failures.
  • Surprisingly, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, a smaller AA title, became one of Ubisoft’s biggest successes in recent years, praised for its art style, fluid combat, and impressive puzzle design.
  • Despite this unexpected success, Ubisoft disbanded the game’s development team. At the same time, larger projects like Skull and Bones continued draining resources, leaving Assassin’s Creed Shadows as the company’s last hope for redemption amidst acquisition speculations.

Ubisoft was the pioneer of open-world games and created iconic franchises such as Far Cry and Assassin’s Creed. However, its downfall was one of the biggest disappointments in gaming history. Every time they hit rock bottom, it only gets worse from there.

Despite its constant pushes to release highly anticipated AAA and AAAA releases that were quite costly, they ended up as expensive failures. However, if Ubisoft had a single successful release this decade, it would have been Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, an AA release that nobody expected to do great.

Why It Matters: Ubisoft was one of the biggest publishers of the 2010s and a staple of open-world AAA games. It is quite disappointing to see how much their direction has changed. Their only success was a smaller project that nobody cared about.

Nobody Expected Prince Of Persia: The Lost Crown To Be Great

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown
Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown Is One Of The Best Games Of 2024

To be honest, from the get-go, I was one of the people who expressed disappointment towards the first reveal of Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, the very first new entry in the franchise in over a decade.

A different protagonist seemed like a fresh start for Ubisoft, but as a Metroidvania game, it wasn’t exactly what sold me in the beginning. My views changed when the game finally launched alongside many others.

Ubisoft redeemed itself with the title, and honestly, no one saw it coming, even Ubisoft, as a matter of fact. Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown has an amazing art style, fluid combat for a 2D game, and some of the best puzzle sequences in the series. Overall, it just feels fantastic.

For a Metroidvania game, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown hit a 300k concurrent player count on Steam, which is a respectable figure.

Prince Of Persia: The Lost Crown Seems Like An Accidental Win

Ubisoft AAAA Games
Not Even A New Far Cry Game Could Push Ubisoft’s Luck

Being an AA game with a smaller budget, it seems like the developers behind Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown had quite the freedom over the project. Ubisoft Montpellier absolutely nailed the Prince of Persia aspect

However, Ubisoft reportedly disbanded the entire team that worked on the project, and the sequel that was being worked on was also dismissed. Instead of wasting resources and vast chunks of money on projects like Skulls and Bones, which took almost a decade of development and cost hundreds of millions of dollars, maybe it should focus on smaller projects.

Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown was the obvious calling for it. Still, the company doesn’t seem to learn, and with the current predictions, the French publisher is expected to go bankrupt by the end of next year.

Ubisoft Has A Last Chance At Redemption

Ubisoft Bankruptcy
Tencent Reportedly Interested In Tencent Buyout

Aside from the smaller Mirage project Assassin’s Creed Shadows, the first primary entry in the Assassin’s Creed Shadows is expected to revitalize the series and return it to its frequent release cycle.

However, Assassin’s Creed Shadows already seems to be in deep trouble because it features an African American protagonist in a long-awaited, feudal Japanese setting. The game’s delay hopefully means a polished launch with at least some aspects being fixed that were called out.

I genuinely want Assassin’s Creed Shadows to succeed because it’s the only project that can pull Ubisoft out of the swamp. Aside from Shadows, the Splinter Cell remake is also expected to drop sometime in 2026. However, if Shadows fails, it will be too late for Splinter Cell to save Ubisoft.

If all else fails, some major corporations may acquire Ubisoft, and Tencent seems to be a strong candidate. I want Sony to acquire Ubisoft, and that way, it can even its grounds with Microsoft acquiring Activision.

Hopefully, under an acquisition, Ubisoft may relive the glory days that it once had. One can only wish.

GTA 6 Projected To Make History With $3 Billion Revenue In First Year

Story Highlight
  • Analysts expect GTA 6 to set new records, reaching $3.2 billion in revenue during the first 12 months.
  • A third of this revenue is expected to come from pre-order sales alone.
  • This success would eclipse GTA 5’s record, which made $1 billion in three days.

There is little doubt that GTA 6 will be gaming’s biggest release when it releases next year. As 2025 draws nearer, Take-Two and Rockstar Games have unprecedented expectations to meet, and analysts believe new records will be shattered immediately after the title arrives.

As per a new projection, the game will make a whopping $3 billion in the first 12 months alone.

Why it matters: GTA 5 previously made a new record in the gaming industry by making $1 billion within the first three days of its release. GTA 6 seems set to eclipse this record by a huge margin.

GTA 6 Is Being Considered A Major Event For The Entire Entertainment Business

As reported by the Financial Times, GTA 6 will be a major deal for all of entertainment, just like its predecessor. Analysis from DFC Intelligence suggests that the title will reach $1 billion in revenue through pre-orders alone.

This could make it the fastest-selling game of all time. Moreover, analysts expect this Grand Theft Auto entry to finish strong in the first twelve months, raking in a total of $3.2 billion in revenue.

Interestingly, another analyst previously predicted similar launch revenue for the title, estimating 25 million sales at release. Elsewhere, Strauss Zelnick continues to build excitement for the title, promising “something absolutely phenomenal.”

The executive has made similar comments in the past, alluding to extraordinary things from Rockstar Games.

With such lofty expectations, GTA 6 has big shoes to fill. However, the series’ track record inspires confidence, promising new levels of success for Rockstar Games. This success will only be amplified by the next interaction of GTA Online if it can live up to the online experience popularized by GTA 5.

Tech Experts Hail Indiana Jones As The Best Looking Game of 2024

Story Highlight
  • Just recently, Digital Foundry released a video to announce the game featuring the best graphics in 2024.
  • The tech experts discussed games like Hellblade 2, Black Myth: Wukong, Star Wars Outlaws, Silent Hill 2, and Indiana Jones.
  • Indiana Jones and the Great Circle prevailed as the best-looking game of 2024, beating Unreal Engine 5’s tech marvels.

As soon as Indiana Jones and The Great Circle was revealed to the public, a certain fandom went crazy. The iconic movie series has finally made its presence known in the gaming industry as well.

However, despite the hype and anticipation, the title didn’t really perform as well as one would expect from a AAA game. While the sales seem to be a bit on the drier side, MachineGames and Disney had their expectations in check and are satisfied with how it is performing.

Indiana Jones managed to capture the iconic Indy vibe and features gorgeous graphics. Due to that, tech experts have hailed it as the best-looking game of 2024.

Why it matters: In 2024, many good-looking games were released, so the MachineGames’ latest title, developed via an in-house engine at the pinnacle, is an outstanding achievement.

Digital Foundry is considered one of the best tech reviewers of all time as fans await its analysis of the latest games and technology. The tech experts recently released a video for Best Graphics of 2024 and gave this award to none other than Indiana Jones and The Great Circle

Digital Foundry discussed STALKER 2, Persona 3 Reload, Metaphor: ReFantazio, Nightdive Studios, Tiny Glade, FF7 Rebirth, Power Rangers, Dragons Dogma 2, Riven, Dragon Age: The Veilguard, Silent Hill 2, Astro Bot, Penny’s Big Breakaway, Black Myth: Wukong, Star Wars Outlaws, Hellblade 2, and, of course, Indiana Jones

It is a pretty big achievement for MachineGames’ latest title to be able to beat games like Hellblade 2, Star Wars Outlaws, Silent Hill 2, and Black Myth: Wukong.

MachineGames’ Recent Title Wins Best Graphics of The Year Award in 2024

The tech experts were shocked to see how the developers have actually managed to capture the old movie’s essence and make the game look so good. Rendering-wise, Hellblade 2 seems to be the superior one, but overall, Indy takes the throne for being the best-looking title of 2024.

This also shows that developers should focus more on the in-house engine rather than just jumping on the trend of making games using Unreal Engine 5. For those unaware, the latest Indy title was developed using Id Tech 7, while games like Black Myth: Wukong, Hellblade 2, and Silent Hill 2 were developed using Unreal Engine 5.

It is good to see the game finally getting such recognition, as it deserves a lot more praise. Due to its reception, more titles are already rumored to be in development, and Disney seems to have given them a green light

What do you think about the latest Indy title? Do you think it is the best-looking game of 2024? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below, or join the official Tech4Gamers forums for discussion.

Black Myth: Wukong Was 2024’s Most Shocking Game, Says Konami Dev

Story Highlight
  • Black Myth: Wukong continues to receive praise from veteran developers in the industry.
  • Konami’s Noriaki Okamura praised Game Science for releasing a Game of The Year contender despite its lack of experience.
  • He also compared the title’s success to Genshin Impact, praising it as a major moment for the Chinese gaming industry.

Black Myth: Wukong’s success story is no secret. This AAA success has put the Chinese gaming industry on the map, setting the stage for major investments and various future projects.

Game Science also secured multiple Game of The Year nominations and broke Steam’s concurrent records this year. Following these results, a major Konami developer has dubbed Black Myth: Wukong 2024’s most shocking release.

Why it matters: The fact that veteran developers have been just as impressed by this AAA release as general audiences shows how well Game Science’s work holds up.

Black Myth: Wukong
Sun Wukong Is Now Highly Popular In The Industry

Senior Producer Noriaki Okamura was recently asked to share his most shocking game of 2024 as part of 4Gamer’s annual developer interview.

He was quick to point out Black Myth: Wukong as his pick, highlighting the fact that Game Science delivered AAA gameplay without any prior experience. The Producer also acknowledged the title’s Game of The Year nomination.

According to his statement, Black Myth: Wukong’s success is similar to that of Genshin Impact’s. Both titles showcase the prowess of Chinese developers and stand out as one-of-a-kind experiences from a region otherwise not known for its games.

It’s still shocking that a production company with no past experience suddenly became a Game of The Year candidate.

-Noriaki Okamura

The most interesting part of this interview is the fact that Noriaki Okamura was far from the only one to select Black Myth: Wukong as his most shocking game of 2024. Developers from studios like Koei Tecmo and Cygames had a similar response.

Going by these responses, it’s clear that Sun Wukong’s impact on the industry has been surreal in 2024. Moving forward, Game Science is expected to return with DLC for the title and various sequels to expand the IP.

As for Konami, the gaming giant is currently focused on Metal Gear Solid 3 Remake. Producer Noriaki Okamura promised this title would be his top priority heading into 2025.

What are your thoughts on the developer’s pick? Do you agree? Let us know in the comments, and visit the Tech4Gamers Forums for more discussions.

PlayStation Not Giving Up On Live-Service Titles Despite Concord’s Failure, Says Head

Story Highlight
  • Herman Hulst says PlayStation will continue developing live-service games even after Concord’s failure.
  • Story-driven single-player titles will also be developed to keep a healthy balance in Sony’s portfolio.
  • These live-service titles will launch on multiple platforms, while single-player ones will retain exclusivity for a while.

PlayStation has had many wins and losses throughout the year, but Concord was arguably its biggest failure. The entry performed so poorly after launch that it was soon taken offline, and even Firewalk Studios was shut down soon after.

Many thought the company would hesitate to work on more live-service entries, but the gaming giant has completely different plans.

PlayStation Studios head Herman Hulst has recently claimed that Sony intends to pursue more live-service games. This is in tandem with single-player titles to satisfy both sides of the gaming community.

Why it matters: PlayStation’s strategy to continue developing live-service titles despite Concord’s failure is largely inspired by successes like Helldivers 2, as the company realizes the potential the genre holds.

Marvel Rivals Crushes Concord In Every Domain (Image by Tech4Gamers)
Marvel Rivals director said Concord failed because it brought no unique value.

In an interview with Famitsu, Herman Hulst says that people desire great games, and PlayStation recognizes that Concord could not meet expectations due to factors like increased competition. However, the company is not ready to give up on live-service entries.

We will continue to focus on developing live service titles along with the story-driven single-player titles that our players want.

-Herman Hulst

He elaborates that PlayStation knows it can establish high-quality live-service titles, citing Helldivers 2’s massive accolades to make a point. So, it’s not the genre at fault but rather what results these games bring to the table for players and PlayStation alike.

Helldivers 2
After Concord’s failure, Helldivers 2 devs took to Reddit to ask for player feedback.

The executive also mentions that PlayStation is working with more third-party studios to evolve its portfolio with unique games. So, we can expect many single-player and live-service games to come our way soon.

Do you think Sony’s next live-service games will achieve Helldivers 2’s level of success, or will they flop like Concord? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below, or join the discussion on the official Tech4Gamers forum.

Modders Developing Co-Op Mod For Spider-Man 2018 That Console Players Can Never Experience

Story Highlight
  • A team of modders is developing a PC-exclusive PvE co-op mod for Marvel’s Spider-Man.
  • Up to 16 players can join a single lobby at a time. It will also be ported to Spider-Man 2 in the future.
  • Some main story missions already work with the mod, but the devs are currently working on free-roam content.

Marvel’s Spider-Man’s emergence on PC succeeded, and PC players enjoyed the cinematic story. Unsurprisingly, many users took advantage of modding and turned the game into beautiful or equally wacky ventures.

Now, a team of modders is trying to bring back a huge feature that the developers scrapped during development. Modders are currently working on a PvE co-op mod for Spider-Man that will only be released for PC players.

Why it matters: The PC modding community continues to do the dirty work for actual developers. Hence, fans are thrilled and showing plenty of support for this project.

The Spider-Man Multiplayer trailer uploaded on YouTube mostly showcases cinematic sequences and reveals additional information. Unfortunately, PvP is not an option that will be available, and up to 16 players can join a single lobby at a time

Some main story content already works well with the mod, but the rest will be developed further down the line. As of now, the team is focused on tinkering with free-roam content to make exploring the main city a fun experience.

You can invite the players via a Steam invite, or they can add the host’s IP to join a lobby that way. The modders also plan to port the mod to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 once Insomniac Games releases it for PC on January 30, 2025.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2
Marvel’s Spider-Man generated a whopping $3.8 billion in revenue alone.

It’s certainly an exciting mod, and many players will be looking to experience the world of Spider-Man with their friends. Maybe Insomniac Games will officially add this mod to the game, just like some mods are officially added to Cyberpunk 2077.

Do you think the PvE mod will completely rejuvenate Marvel’s Spider-Man for PC players who prefer more of a co-op experience? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below, or join the discussion on the official Tech4Gamers forum.

Video Game Industry Laid Off Approx 25000 Employees Between 2023-2024

Story Highlight
  • Between 2023 and 2024, the video game industry saw approximately 25,000 developers being laid off.
  • The number of layoffs increased by about 40% from 2023 to 2024, with nearly 13,000 developers losing their jobs by October 2024.
  • The upcoming release of GTA 6 in 2025 is expected to generate significant revenue and potentially revitalize the industry.

The video game industry has experienced major challenges between 2023 and 2024, leading to large-scale layoffs. Around 25,000 employees have lost their jobs during this time which shows a larger trend of downsizing in the industry.

Major companies like Microsoft, PlayStation, EA, Activision, etc., laid off thousands of employees this year. It’s safe to say that 2024 was the most challenging period for the people who make the games we play.

Why it matters: Economic challenges have pushed companies to simplify operations and cut costs, resulting in mass layoffs.

Marvels Spider Man 2 Sony Layoffs
It’s been a tough year for the gaming industry, but there’s hope for the future.

In 2023, the industry experienced around 11,250 layoffs, mainly due to market adjustments after the pandemic and studio mergers. The situation got worse in 2024, with layoffs rising by about 40% compared to the previous year.

By October 2024, nearly 13,000 game developers had lost their jobs, bringing the total number of layoffs over two years to around 25,000.

The cost of making AAA games has surged over the past ten years. Budgets that used to range from $50-150 million now often go over $200 million, with some projects even reaching $400 million.

For instance, Spider-Man 2 development cost $312 million. Concord, which is generally seen as the biggest failure in the industry, reportedly cost $400 million to develop. Sony’s CEO publicly stated that PlayStation’s developers should manage budgets carefully.

This sharp rise in costs has made companies more cautious about investing in new ideas, leading them to focus on safe, well-known franchises. While this strategy may provide short-term financial security, it has limited creativity and resulted in many layoffs as companies try to cut costs.

The industry’s recent focus on live-service games has also played a big role in layoffs. These games, which rely on ongoing revenue from microtransactions and updates, now take up most of the development focus.

As a result, traditional single-player games have been given less attention, leading to rushed and unfinished releases.

Even companies that thrived with live-service games, like Epic Games, have been impacted. In 2023, Epic laid off 16% of its staff as part of a larger restructuring. This shows that even the most successful companies are struggling with the challenges of this model.

Indie Developers Hope For Gaming Industry
Even in tough times, indie developers are rising as a beacon of hope for the industry.

Despite these challenges, there is optimism for the future. The upcoming release of big titles like GTA 6 in 2025 is expected to bring in a lot of revenue and could help boost the industry.

Analysts predict that the game might earn $3.2 billion in its first year, making it the gaming industry’s most important release.

2025 is shaping up to be an important year for the gaming industry. Some of the highly anticipated titles are hitting the shelf in the upcoming year, so there is hope amidst the recent darkness.

Dustborn Gets Review Bombed On GoG As Soon As It’s Released On The Platform

Story Highlight
  • Dustborn is being review-bombed on GoG, with players leaving negative reviews without purchasing the title.
  • The game has an average score of 1.8 out of 5 on the platform.
  • Verified reviews are kinder, however, with the average score being 4.8.

2024 has been defined by video games with DEI elements getting copious amounts of stick from the gaming community. Whether we are talking about Dragon Age: Veilguard or even unreleased titles like Intergalactic and Assassins Creed: Shadows, fans have not been easy on diverse inclusions in indie or AAA titles.

One victim of this trend was Red Thread Games’ Dustborn, which came out earlier this year. The game was heavily criticized for its “forced diversity” and it seems like the negative reception is still strong as the game is being review bombed on GoG.

Why This Matters: DEI elements have severely hurt game sales this year and Dustborn is another victim of this new media trend.

Dustborn Review-Bombed On GOG
Dustborn is receiving scathing reviews on GoG.

Shortly after its release on GoG, Dustborn has been met with a flurry of negative reviews, mostly from players who haven’t even bought the game. GoG doesn’t require gamers to buy a title to rate it, hence the overall rating from gamers who haven’t touched Dustborn is 1.8.

Most of the bad unverified reviews vocally condemn the “woke” nature of the title, with several also calling it toxic as it normalizes toxic behavior and negative emotions.

Verified players have given Dustborn a surprisingly positive review, with an average score of 4.8 out of 5, showing that those who played the game generally “enjoyed it.”

Anyhow, the negative reception has been so extreme that both the developers and publisher Quantic Dream had to release statements denouncing the hate speech.

Dustborn Paid $2500 At Tokyo Game Show
The game reached a peak player count of only 83 players.

Things didn’t get easier after release, however, as the game received mixed reviews and sold lower than the studio expected. To add insult to injury, people started gifting their friends Dustborn on Steam as a prank.

Do you think the Norwegian title deserves this negative press? Tell us in the comments below or head to the Tech4Gamers forum for discussion.

GTA 6 Just Received Free Massive Marketing Without Rockstar Doing Anything

Story Highlight
  • GTA 6 fans recently curated a theory claiming that the game’s second trailer will be released on 27th December.
  • However, Rockstar didn’t release the trailer on the mentioned date, disappointing a massive fandom.
  • It ended up being a win for the developer as it didn’t do anything and received free marketing.

GTA 6‘s release will go down in history as the biggest and there is no doubt about that. Over the years Rockstar has managed to curate such a massive fandom for the series that many are patiently and impatiently awaiting the title’s release.

It has been over a year since the first trailer was released, so many fans went a little crazy with their theories. I usually read the fan theories, as honestly, they are hilarious, and Rockstar thinks so, too.

However, the most recent 27 December fan theory about GTA 6 2nd trailer is the most outrageous one I have ever read. The fans basically gave GTA 6 free marketing without letting Rockstar do anything.

Why it matters: At this rate, Rockstar Games won’t have to do anything and just wait to drop the bomb on fans when they are least expecting it to generate the hype even more. It won’t be possible without the fans constantly giving the game free marketing.

The 27th December Theory

GTA 6 Second Trailer Fan Theory
Fans Were Almost Certain That The Second Trailer Will Be Released on 27th December

For those who are unaware recently, social media platforms were full of the 27th December theory as some fans had reasons to believe that Rockstar would release the trailer on this date. Many fans made compelling points, such as the developer’s official Instagram handle having 27 posts and trailer 1 having 27 written in exactly 27 seconds.

Other points were that Rockstar was founded on 27th December which, by the way, is a lie and that Rockstar’s recent post on X at that time had 27 at the end. If your mind is hurting then I wouldn’t blame you as this theory is outrageous but many fans believed it.

Usually I’m skeptical about community theories, but this one really got me. If it turns out to be wrong, I ain’t believing anything else until the game actually drops.

This caused a false sense of hope and unreal expectations that Rockstar didn’t set. Even fans who were skeptical about community theories were pumped about this one.

Rockstar Might Have Something To Do With It

GTA 6 2nd Trailer
This Fan Theory Went Viral on Platforms Like Twitter

Many fans were already pretty sure that the developer would be releasing the trailer on the said date. That is when it was reported that Rockstar archived a post in order to keep the total number still 27 after posting a new one.

If that was a little confusing then simply understand that the Instagram account had 27 posts, so the gaming giant archived one and posted the new one to keep the number same.

It was already so suspicious that why would Rockstar release the trailer during the holidays? The whole theory just didn’t make any sense to me but the gaming giant did troll the fandom here.

If they don’t release a trailer on the 27th its one of the biggest trolls Rockstar has ever done.

After this, the voice actor of Michael De Santa from GTA 5 teased the second trailer of GTA 6 on 27th December. At this moment the fandom was divided where some claimed that this was 100% a troll while others were sure that something was going down on the said date.

Nothing Happened On 27th December

GTA 6 Fan Theory
The Fandom Supporting The Theory was Pranked on The Said Date

As you can now already tell “nothing happened” (One Piece reference) when fans were expecting the studio to stop the second trailer. On the said date Rockstar and GTA 6 were trending on platforms like Twitter as fans were hyped and anticipating the second trailer

However, they were pranked by themselves as Rockstar Games didn’t confirm the trailer at all. There were a lot of more theories fans made up but all of them were busted. Now, the fans are left devastated with no updates on when the trailer is going to be released but Rockstar emerged victorious with free massive marketing for GTA 6.

The developer didn’t do a single thing to make its upcoming game trending on social media platforms which shows exactly how crazy and impatient the fandom is for more information about the game.

It has been a long time since the last trailer was released so the studio should at least give fans some updates. GTA 6 is set to release in 2025 on consoles but no trailer in 2024 may be hinting at an imminent delay

What do you think about the 27th December theory? Did you support it? Share your thoughts with us in the comments section below.

God of War Creator Declares Indiana Jones His Game of The Year

Story Highlight
  • David Jaffe says Indiana Jones and The Great Circle is his Game of The Year.
  • The director said he adored the game, but it could have been 20% shorter.
  • MachineGames’ success almost certainly guarantees more Indiana Jones games.

Xbox and MachineGames’ Indiana Jones and The Great Circle has been a major success story this year. Following impressive reviews, reports of Disney wanting more games have already begun to show up, and various fans continue to praise the game.

Indiana Jones and The Great Circle also won a significant Game of The Year poll recently, highlighting the community’s reverence for the title. Even the famous creator of God of War has declared the title his Game of The Year.

Why it matters: MachineGames’ work on Indiana Jones and The Great Circle was initially met with skepticism, with many questioning the first-person perspective and initial footage. These doubts no longer exists.

Indiana Jones and The Great Circle
David Jaffe Discusses His Game of The Year via Twitter

Taking to Twitter, David Jaffe showered Indiana Jones and The Great Circle with plenty of praise. This is a big deal because David Jaffe is known to be quite critical with his opinions of the gaming industry.

Major journalists like Ryan McCaffrey share similar opinions, highlighting just how well MachineGames’ exciting blend of puzzle-solving, exploration, and combat works in this Indiana Jones adaptation.

The God of War director didn’t go too in-depth with his praise, but he did point out one particular flaw. As per David Jaffe, the game could have been 20% shorter. He noted that this is something most modern releases struggle with, even with an easy fix in sight.

Still, this flaw did not take away from the rest of Indiana Jones and The Great Circle’s strengths. It is also interesting to note that David Jaffe previously declared Starfield his Game of The Year, marking two consecutive years of Xbox picks for the director.

MachineGames is currently said to be working on different games, but fans can almost certainly look forward to more Indiana Jones titles from the developer. The wait may be long, but if Indy’s first outing from the developer is anything to go by, it will certainly be worth it.

New Reports Confirm Intel Arc “Battlemage Pro” GPU With 24GB of VRAM

Story Highlight
  • Intel plans to release a 24GB version of the Arc B580 GPU to meet rising AI hardware demand.
  • The new 24GB GPU will target industries such as scientific research, education, and data centers, emphasizing the increased need for high-memory GPUs.
  • Intel will need to redesign the PCB and cooling and make software adjustments, increasing the GPU’s cost.

After the launch of the Arc B580, Intel is reportedly getting ready to release a new 24GB edition, so it appears that this is not the only version in the lineup.

Why it matters: The increased demand for AI is driving the need for more powerful hardware. By expanding the Arc B580 GPU’s memory to 24GB, Intel is positioning itself to meet the requirements of industries relying on high-performance computing.

Source: weixin

According to a Weixin article, Intel wants to grow its Battlemage lineup because of the growing demand for AI. Experts predict that as 2025 approaches, there will be a significant demand for AI and its hardware. Because of this, Intel intends to double the Arc B580 GPU’s current memory capacity.

According to the report, the productivity market target consumers will include a variety of industries, including scientific research, education, and data centers. Due to its 192-bit bus, the Arc B580 contains 12GB of GDDR6 VRAM spread across 6x 2GB modules.

Intel must use either six 4GB GDDR6 memory modules or twelve 2GB GDDR6 dual-rank modules to boost the memory capacity to 24GB. A 12x 2GB arrangement is currently the only practical choice because professional GPUs are the only ones that can achieve 24GB of memory capacity with 4GB modules.

That said, Intel will need to come up with a new PCB design and cooling solution in order to support the 12x 2GB memory arrangement. To enable the memory controller to manage the new memory configuration, some software and hardware modifications will also be needed, further increasing the cost of the GPU.

Right now, the only 16GB budget GPUs available for less than $400 are the RX 7600 XT 16GB and a few older Radeon and Intel GPUs.
