Alinea Analytics has revealed that since the movie came out, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has sold over 300K copies, generating over $11 million in revenue. This has taken the game’s overall revenue to beyond $1.2 billion. 

While some of it is also associated to ongoing discounts, the vast majority came due to the movie’s hype. These numbers were recorded across all of the game’s available platforms, including PlayStation and PC via Steam.

This shows how big of an impact a great film can have on game sales as well. The title came out nearly 3 years ago at this point, and imagine how enormous the numbers would’ve been if both had released simultaneously.
