The Sequel Is Being Tuned Based On Fan Feedback To Improve It Over The Predecessor.

Story Highlight
  • CI Games’ CEO has revealed that Lords of the Fallen 2 will have a combat mechanic never seen before in a soulslike.
  • This feature will work across all enemy types and bosses.
  • Furthermore, the CEO stated that the sequel is being shaped based on fan feedback.

The soulslike side of the industry keeps expanding every year, with studios around the world trying their own interpretation of the genre. Players have received brilliant games like Lies of P, but some titles have failed to capture the spirit of a soulslike, and one of these games is Lords of the Fallen.

Despite turning out to be a commercial success for CI Games, Lords of the Fallen was criticised by fans to some degree. However, the game managed to earn record revenue for the publisher, putting a sequel in production that will apparently feature an exciting new combat mechanic.

Why it matters: Lords of the Fallen did showcase glimmers of potential despite falling short of being an outstanding soulslike. Hence, if the sequel is trying to be creative while listening to the fans, it could be a vast improvement over its predecessor.

In a post on X, CI Games CEO Marek Tyminski stated that Lords of the Fallen 2 will have a combat feature that has never been seen in a soulslike before. This mysterious mechanic will work on all enemy types and bosses, according to Tyminski.

The CEO also revealed that feedback towards Lords of the Fallen 2 and this combat mechanic has been outstanding internally, and players who tested the game left with a positive impression. Furthermore, he also assured fans that CI Games is shaping the sequel based on user feedback from the first title.

Marek Tyminski revealed that the studio has even checked Steam reviews to better tune Lords of the Fallen 2 and make it a clear step up from its predecessor.

Lords of the Fallen 2
The sequel is reportedly releasing in 2026.

Currently, the sequel is scheduled to release in 2026, but not much has been revealed so far. The publisher has confirmed that Lords of the Fallen 2 is going to be darker and could even ditch the Epic exclusivity. However, fans will have to wait a little bit to learn about this exciting new combat mechanic coming to the soulslike.
