Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Devs Confident In Product Despite Crowded Launch Month

"If This Happened With The First Game, Morale Would Be Crushed"

Story Highlight
  • Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, a highly anticipated 2025 game has finally been released.
  • The game has received a solid rating of 87 on the Metacritic with the majority highlighting only positive things about it.
  • The developers are also pretty confident about releasing it in a month that is packed with other great RPGs.

After years of anticipation, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has finally been released, and it is receiving a lot of positive reception from the fandom. The game did find itself in the center of a controversy but that didn’t last for long and didn’t hurt the game’s reputation by much.

It has also received a pretty solid rating from the critics with the majority mainly saying how it evolves every aspect of its predecessor. The game was released in a month filled with behemoths like Civilization 7, Avowed, and Assassin’s Creed Shadows; however, in spite of that, the developers are pretty confident in their product

Why it matters: KCD2 has received many praises from different video game outlets and nearly all of them claimed that this game makes every aspect of the old game better. So, it makes sense why the developers are confident.

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 Mocks Eurogamer For Giving The Game A Low Review Score

In an interview with Gamesradar+, Ondřej Bittner, a senior game designer at Warhorse Studios, revealed that if the prequel had been released right now, the developer wouldn’t have been able to withstand the pressure of releasing the game in the same month, other behemoths are being released.

I think, if this happened with the first game, morale would be crushed. After Plaion acquired Warhorse in 2019, the developer gained the opportunity to deliver glossy games with more self-assurance. Now we learn, kind of, to sit at the big boy table. “We’re positively confident in our own product.

It is good to see that the developers are confident in the product they have curated over the years, and rightfully so. Bittner further says that while some of the games are going to steal the media coverage, the player base isn’t the same, so there is nothing to be afraid of

The fandom has been waiting for the Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 for a long time, so it makes sense why Bittner would make such claims.
