- Multiple reports state that Best Buy is sending out emails regarding GTA 6.
- These emails point to a pre-order date of May 18, which is just a few days away.
- This date could also mean that trailer 3 is coming very soon, possibly before pre-orders go live.
Summer 2026 is nearly upon us, which means that Rockstar Games and Take-Two’s marketing plans for GTA 6 will commence any moment now.
Amid this excitement, multiple new reports have given fans just one more reason to keep expectations high. According to reports, GTA 6 pre-orders could open at any time now.
Why it matters: GTA 6 is expected to make records immediately after its pre-orders go live. The game is set to defy all industry expectations and sell millions of copies on day one.
At the time of writing, Best Buy appears to be sending out emails to affiliate accounts, sharing a May 18 pre-order date for GTA 6.
As shared on Reddit, this email isn’t a one-off case, as multiple people have confirmed receiving the same message from Best Buy. In fact, YouTuber Frogboy has even shared this email on his livestream for further verification.
Because Best Buy is among the world’s largest retailers, this leak appears to be the most credible information regarding GTA 6 pre-orders so far. This could also mean that marketing for the game will begin rather soon.
In fact, it would not be shocking to see Rockstar Games releasing the third GTA 6 trailer just before opening up pre-orders to create anticipation for the title.

Just days earlier, PlayStation was sending out messages and urging users to upgrade to the PS5 in preparation for GTA 6. The fact that Best Buy’s leak comes so soon after these PlayStation messages were spotted makes matters even more interesting.
Of course, the game is set to launch on consoles later this year. PC users will have to wait a bit longer to play GTA 6, but Rockstar Games will likely attempt to bring out the PC port faster than past releases to capitalize on the ongoing excitement.
