- GTA 6 is skipping PC at launch since Rockstar believes its core consumers are on consoles.
- They want to serve their core consumers well first.
- Take-Two CEO also accidentally seemingly confirmed a PlayStation marketing deal for GTA 6.
GTA 6’s release date is set for November 16th later this year, and it is carved in stone; no further delays are expected for what is set to be the biggest video game release in history.
Unfortunately, GTA 6 will be a console exclusive at launch, like past Rockstar titles. However, Take-Two CEO has now stated the reason behind this decision, saying that consoles are the ‘core consumers’ for Rockstar.
Why it matters: Take-Two CEO previously stated that gaming is shifting to PC, yet this claim that consoles are the core consumers contradicts that.

In an interview with Bloomberg, Take-Two CEO was asked why GTA 6 isn’t coming to PC at launch, to which he answered:
Rockstar always starts on console because I think with regard to a release like that you’re judged by serving the core, — Like really serving the core consumer.
It seems that Rockstar has really narrowed down where it wants to zero in on with GTA 6. Further, Strauss Zelnick said that if you’re not serving your core consumer first and best, you’re not reaching your other consumers.
He also clarified that the PC port not coming at launch isn’t due to the PlayStation marketing deal, though it is weird that he mentioned it. As of yet, there have been reports that Sony has the rights to GTA 6’s marketing, and this statement above seems to have accidentally confirmed it.

Anyhow, GTA 6 is still expected to shatter sales records, despite being a console exclusive only. Analysts have predicted 20 million copies sold for the first day it launches. Also, the game will be available in physical form for those who would love a hard copy.
