GTA 6 Online Will Be Absolutely Massive Next Year And Could Arrive Alongside PC Release!

Story Highlight
  • Twitch CEO Dan Clancy has hinted that GTA 6 Online will launch next year.
  • The Twitch CEO expects a huge boost in the platform’s engagement when this mode finally arrives.
  • Rockstar Games could also release the PC port alongside this multiplayer component to capitalize on the popularity of GTA RP.

Nobody doubts the fact that GTA 6 will prove to be gaming’s biggest event later this year, especially after the phenomenal Netflix showcase led to a surge in pre-orders. However, ahead of its release, many are also wondering when GTA 6’s online component will launch.

Interestingly enough, a new teaser suggests the mode will not be here for a while, launching later next year.

Why it matters: GTA Online was the biggest factor in GTA 5’s everlasting popularity, so many are excited to see where the sequel will take the series.

GTA 6 Arrives In November

As reported by Bloomberg, Twitch CEO Dan Clancy recently discussed GTA 6’s impact on the platform.

Twitch is the home of game streaming, so GTA 6 will undoubtedly become the top-viewed game on the platform come November. Many new streamers are also expected to rise to popularity following the game’s release.

However, Twitch CEO Dan Clancy says that an even bigger bump in viewership will arrive when GTA 6’s multiplayer mode launches “next year.”

You are going to see this big bump with GTA 6, but then an even bigger one next year when they launch multiplayer.

It’s also important to note that GTA RP is extremely popular on a platform like Twitch. Rockstar Games has recently taken this part of the GTA Online experience more seriously, so there’s a chance the team will launch GTA 6 Online alongside the game’s PC release.

This could serve as a huge boost to an already-successful release. Recent reports have already suggested that the PC port will arrive sooner than the typical Rockstar Games release.

As a reminder, GTA 5’s online mode launched just one month after the game’s official launch. Perhaps this was why the team initially didn’t have much faith in the title, but things should be quite different for GTA 6.
