GTA 6 Is An Extremely Difficult Game To Show Off!

Story Highlight
  • Rockstar Games says it didn’t release a GTA 6 gameplay trailer because the game is hard to show off.
  • The team chose the Netflix Extended Look for a detailed look at the game.
  • This could be how future Rockstar Games titles are shown off moving forward.

The GTA 6 Netflix Extended Look has led to a surge in excitement for the game. While many were initially confused by this marketing decision, the game has left practically everyone impressed.

Rockstar Games has also recently discussed why it chose a Netflix debut for the gameplay over a more traditional showcase. As per the studio, the team just had way too much to show off.

Why it matters: Rockstar Games typically showcases a narrated gameplay trailer for its games, something the team did not do for GTA 6.

GTA 6 Comes Out In November

As reported by Ben, Rockstar North co-studio head Rob Nelson informed Kinda Funny Games that the team wasn’t necessarily opposed to the idea of an extended narrated gameplay trailer many fans expected

Instead, the studio went for the Netflix Extended Look because there was simply too much to cover. Rob Nelson reportedly noted that GTA 6 is an extremely difficult game to show off.

This is because of how many activities the game offers and how much content is packed into the entire experience. Of course, the team may have also gone for the Netflix deal to try something new.

Grocery shopping is going to be a part of the game, just not a mandatory one.

Many of these things were still not shown off in detail during the Netflix Extended Look, but with the preview being nearly 30 minutes long, Rockstar Games covered substantially more than it could have with a YouTube trailer.

Suffice it to say, this may be how the team goes ahead for future marketing when it comes to major AAA releases.

What did you think of the Netflix gameplay? Let’s discuss in the comments.
