However, these games also attract audiences due to just how different they are. As an example, FromSoftware boss Hidetaka Miyazaki has discussed the long-running jokes about his fascination with feet in a recent interview.

FromSoftware president Hidetaka Miyazaki has pushed back against the fan theory that he has an unusual fixation on feet. Speaking to The Guardian, Miyazaki said he has no idea why people think he has “a bit of a thing for feet.”
That is a funny answer, mostly because FromSoftware fans have been making this joke for years. The studio’s games are filled with mysterious women, with many having barefoot designs.
Discussing this element of his games, Hidetaka Miyazaki also admits that he doesn’t consciously think much of barefoot characters. However, the director does say that it could be something that subconsciously comes through in his work.
Nonetheless, the game designer remains adamant that he doesn’t necessarily have a specific admiration for feet like fans suggest.

Of course, Hidetaka Miyazaki is currently working on The Duskbloods, so it will be interesting to see if fans find more reasons in this particular title to continue the meme about the director’s obsession with feet.
