No Teaser or Reveal For GTA 6!

GTA 5 turns 10 in just a couple of days, so many fans had massive expectations from Rockstar Games on this momentous occasion.

The latest mainline entry in the Grand Theft Auto franchise has made headlines for a decade, catapulting the franchise to unprecedented levels of success and popularity. This has also led to immense excitement for GTA 6.

Earlier this month, fans expected Rockstar Games to tease GTA 6, with the studio potentially using the 10th-anniversary of GTA 5 for an announcement. However, the studio has disappointed, providing new GTA Online content for the anniversary.

Why it matters: GTA 6 is expected to be the biggest launch in the gaming industry, but Rockstar Games has yet to reveal much about the game, upsetting some fans with its secretive nature.

Following the leaks from last year, GTA 6 is no longer the secret that it once was. With the release date drawing closer each day, fans had hoped Rockstar Games would prepare something to celebrate a decade of GTA 5.

Instead, the studio announced GTA Online additions like outfits inspired by Michael, Trevor, and Franklin, along with a 4x bonus on some missions, treating the anniversary like any typical occasion.

Many have grown tired of GTA Online after a decade, and such updates have not helped. Even if the studio did not plan on teasing GTA 6, a more extensive update could have led to more excitement for the series.

Nonetheless, various Twitter users are still hopeful for a new announcement on September 17.

Despite the announcement for GTA Online, the Tweet is filled with replies asking about GTA 6. The game has been in the works for over 8 years, but Rockstar Games has shown no signs of a reveal anytime soon.

The latest disappointment from Rockstar Games comes after the Red Dead Redemption port for the PS4 and Nintendo Switch. Last month, the announcement received unanimous criticism and was bombarded by thousands of dislikes on YouTube.

GTA 5 has sold more than 185 million copies, and much of its continued success comes from the popularity of GTA Online. However, a large part of Rockstar Games’ fanbase is more interested in the future of the series at this point.

Nonetheless, GTA 5’s 10th anniversary is still a few days away, leaving the slight possibility of a teaser for GTA 6. Take-Two has hinted at an early 2025 release for GTA 6 at the latest, so the inevitable reveal for GTA 6 is expected to arrive soon.
