Rockstar Games recently revealed the GTA 6 collector’s edition. However, initial reactions to this version haven’t been the most pleasant. In fact, many fans have 3D printed the collector’s edition’s contents on their own, criticizing Rockstar Games’ official offering for a game as big as GTA 6.

Why it matters: Games typically offer expensive collector’s editions for enthusiast fans, but in GTA 6’s case, most enthusiasts seem to dislike what Rockstar Games is offering.

Over on Twitter, fans have criticized the GTA 6 collector’s edition. In particular, many fans believe that the steep asking price means that the collector’s edition won’t be worth it.

Unlike a typical collector’s edition, Rockstar Games is also not offering a collectible statue or something big for GTA 6 fans to display as part of their game collection. Moreover, many have criticized how this version ships without the game itself.

Some fans also believe Rockstar Games should consider an alternative for fans who want to get their hands on some of the contents of the collector’s edition. Fans feel the team offered a much more compelling collector’s edition for a game like Red Dead Redemption 2. Others on Twitter have even called the collector’s edition a scam.

Perhaps the biggest red flag is that the GTA 6 collector’s edition is still in stock on several storefronts. This means that the demand simply isn’t there for a game expected to be the industry’s magnum opus in 2026.
