Elden Ring Shadow Of The Erdtree Has Been Announced

Expansion Is Coming!

Elden Ring recently celebrated its first anniversary. The game has set a high bar for upcoming titles and continues to receive awards for its combat and open-world game design.

FromSoftware’s latest title won the Game of The Year award at TGA 2022, and Director Hidetaka Miyazaki announced on the stage that more content was planned for Elden Ring. While not much is known about this content, an expansion for the game has just been announced.

Shadow of the Erdtree is in development, and fans can expect more information in the coming months.

Unfortunately, FromSoftware has not revealed much more than artwork and the expansion’s name.

The announcement does not address the subject of potential follow-up DLCs that fans have seen in previous games like Dark Souls 3. It is also possible that FromSoftware may have combined multiple DLCs into one large expansion, similar to The Old Hunters DLC for Bloodborne.

However, this will likely be cleared up once gameplay and more details are revealed. E3 is returning in 2023, with a significant PlayStation showcase expected just before E3. Tokyo Game Show is also confirmed for September 21, and any of these events would serve as an excellent opportunity for a gameplay reveal.

In addition to more content for Elden Ring, the developer is working on Armored Core which is scheduled for a 2023 release. This should mean that FromSoftware fans have much to look forward to.
