Now, fans have lodged a new petition requesting Sony and Bungie to develop Destiny 3, after some reports emerged that the studio isn’t actively looking to make the sequel, and is focused on its current title, Marathon instead.
Why it matters: The game hasn’t enjoyed its best years since Sony’s Bungie takeover, but instead of something like Marathon, its fans had always wanted the studio to focus on the next installment in the Destiny series.
On Change.org, fans have filed a new petition demanding that Sony develop Destiny 3. The petition in just over a day old, has garnered over 174K signatures, and the number is increasing rapidly as we write this article.
Fans are saying that they’ve been a part of the Destiny franchise since 2014, and they have memories, and even helped them get through tough situations in life, so seeing it just die without a sequel is just sad.
Others also remark that they’ve bought every new DLC or any additional content since the dawn of the franchise, and this is unfair to them. Considering how the petition is growing, fans might be able to pressure the studio.
