With Onimusha: Way of the Sword Still to Come!

Story Highlight
  • Capcom has had a terrific year with all of its releases this year being massive hits.
  • The studio has generated around $400 million in revenue from Steam alone this year.
  • It still isn’t done, as Onimusha: Way of the Sword still comes out in 2026.

Capcom has been on an absolute roll, releasing one banger after another. In fact, all of its last 5 main releases spread across the last year and a half have had a Metacritic score of 80 or more. Consequently, their financials seem quite strong, too.

A new report reveals that Capcom games have already generated around $400 million in revenue, just on Steam in 2026. This was frontlined by the massive success of Resident Evil Requiem on the platform, amongst others.

Why it matters: The legendary Japanese studio has been so consistent over the past many years that it hardly seems to ever miss the mark. 2026 has been another repeat of that, and we are just 4 months in.

Alinea Analytics has dropped an in-depth report of Capcom’s revenue breakdown from Steam. The studio has generated $389 million so far, with a net revenue of a gigantic $309 million, with not even halfway through the year.

The revenue figures were led by none other than Resident Evil Requiem, with an estimated over 3 million units sold. Pragmata, which was released just a couple of days ago, has also already sold over 500K copies.

Its total tally is already at 1 million. In addition, Monster Hunter Stories 3 has also shown decent figures with around 300K copies. Of course, older game sales have also contributed to the company reaching these figures.

Anyhow, despite the already terrific showing, Capcom isn’t done just yet. It still has Onimusha: Way of the Sword coming out this year, and with that, it could mark a perfect and immensely successful year.
