Blood of Dawnwalker had been among the most exciting releases of 2026. It captures a magical world reminiscent of The Witcher 3 while still maintaining its unique identity. Even the reviews have overall been quite decent.
Now, a day ahead of its official launch, Blood of Dawnwalker has shot up to the first place in Steam best sellers. It is above all the paid titles on the platform and is apparently selling really well following the positive reviews.
Why it matters: Expectations were already pretty high, considering the title has been developed by a bunch of The Witcher 3 veterans. Seeing the reviews, fans are even hyped, making it the top-selling Steam game.
On Steam, Blood of Dawnwalker is currently the top-selling paid game, ahead of more upcoming releases like Onimusha and Star Wars Zero Company. It was also among the most wishlisted titles at the recent Gamescom.
Rebel Wolves has incorporated some very unique and fun mechanics into the title that uplift its appeal. For starters, the game spans around 30 days and 30 nights; you play as a human during the daytime, and a vampire at night.
Interestingly, there is a narrative, but no right direction. If you feel like it, you can challenge the final boss right away and be done with the game, but obviously that is going to take a very high skill level.
Nonetheless, the former Witcher developers seem to have done a great job. The RPG comes out in just a day, and the studio has hinted that it will kick off a brand new franchise with more releases to follow.
