Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has taken the long-running franchise to new heights. The recent release has become the biggest Call of Duty launch on PlayStation, shattering previous sales records.

Despite the impressive numbers, things have not been entirely smooth for Modern Warfare 2. Recently, several users have claimed that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is facing several issues at launch.

Crashing and freezing during matches appear to be the biggest issue for the game. Many users have reported the problem, and all platforms are currently experiencing crashes.

Infinity Ward has acknowledged the issue, but the developer has also prevented attachment tuning from remedying the problem. This change will directly affect the player experience by temporarily disabling a part of the weapon customization system.

The developer is also looking into another bug that crashes when players are together at a party. Modern Warfare 2 has not launched in the best state possible, but Infinity Ward is working on getting things up and running.

Furthermore, several players have reported a surge of false bans across Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. The exact cause of the bans is unknown, but Activision claims that the use of unauthorized software and manipulation of game data are to be blamed.

Players have also appealed, attempting to reverse the bans, but Activision Support appears to be denying these appeals. Numerous reports can be found on the matter, but Infinity Ward and Activision’s messaging on this issue remains unclear.

Despite the problems mentioned above, Modern Warfare 2 has become Call of Duty’s best launch on Steam. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s beta also saw similar reception with the biggest beta launch in the franchise.

However, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will struggle to maintain this player base if these issues are not immediately addressed. Infinity Ward is already working to address many of the problems, but it remains to be seen if the developer can promptly bring out fixes for the game.
