Xbox has been on a roll lately. The console manufacturer had a strong showing at Summer Games Fest 2022. Since then, Microsoft has remained mostly quiet about its upcoming plans. However, Gamescom is nearly here, and many surprises are expected.
For starters, a prominent leaker has hinted at Lies of P coming to Game Pass, Day One. The game has a marketing deal with Xbox, so this seems likely. But, it seems like there is more to come.
Another leaker has pointed at a long-awaited title coming to Xbox consoles. The leaker Aggiornamenti Lumia has hinted at the age of Empires 4 coming to Xbox consoles.

Going by the timing of the tweet, an announcement could happen very soon. Gamescom Opening Night Live is hours away, and Age of Empires 4 could be announced for Xbox consoles at the event. One could also wonder if the game will be released for PlayStation consoles, given Xbox’s involvement with Age of Empires 4.
Although the game is exclusive to the PC platform, Age of Empires 4 is already available on PC Game Pass. This had always led to speculation regarding the title’s eventual arrival on Xbox consoles. It seems like the time is finally here. A few months back, Windows Central suggested that the title be set for a 2022 release on Xbox consoles.
Age of Empires 4 is the fourth installment in the classic real-time strategy franchise. RTS games are usually best suited to PC platforms due to the precise inputs required in quick successions. However, a console implementation is far from impossible.
The game was released on October 28, 2021. Since then, the developers have continuously worked on improving Age of Empires 4. A new update kicked off Season 2 in July, and more updates are likely to be performed.
Things are looking very promising for Xbox. Game Pass is doing better than ever, and Xbox is gearing up for many first-party titles in 2023. Furthermore, Microsoft also has plans to acquire more studios to expand its first-party portfolio.
Age of Empires 4 on Xbox consoles should be an exciting time for the RTS community. This genre has a very dedicated player base, and an Xbox release will only add to an existing, loyal player base.
