The most efficient CPU coolers are usually also the largest designs. In the case of the latest Noctua model, the situation is different – the Noctua NH-D12L is an efficient Dual-Tower CPU Cooler maintaining a low height design. It is a smaller version of the NH-D14 and NH-D15 models, one of the best CPU air coolers available.
In Noctua NH-D12L, the manufacturer used two aluminum heat sinks connected by five nickel-plated heat pipes. The asymmetric design ensures compatibility with tall RAM modules. A 120 mm Noctua NF-A12x25 fan is installed between the towers – it is a special, lower model that takes up less space and, at the same time, offers dimensions comparable to standard models. It is worth adding that there is an option to add a second fan (but you have to buy it yourself).
Noctua NH-D12L is only 145 mm in height, so it fits into narrower PC cases. Notably, the cooler offers excellent efficiency – the design provides lower temperatures than the Noctua NH-U12S and even approaches the valued model Noctua NH-U12A.
It is also worth mentioning the compatibility with the latest Intel and AMD sockets (the compatibility list also includes the AMD AM5 socket for the new Ryzen 7000 processors). Of course, the refined Noctua SecuFirm2 mounting system was used here.
Specification of the Noctua NH-D12L CPU Cooler:
- Heatsink: 2x tower (aluminum)
- Heat pipes: 5x 6 mm (nickel plated)
- Fan: Noctua NF-A12x25
- Fan speed: 450 – 2000 RPM
- Fan capacity: 102.1 m³ / h

How much does the Noctua NH-D12L cooler cost?
The Noctua NH-D12L cooler is priced at $90. The Noctua NF-A12x25 fan itself costs around $29. However, it is worth noting that the manufacturer provides a 6-year warranty for its equipment.
