The Remake Has A Lot Of Positive Buzz Around It Internally.

Story Highlight
  • Rayman Legends remake could be set for a Summer 2026 reveal, according to Tom Henderson.
  • The upcoming title has received positive previews internally as Ubisoft is bringing back every feature from the original.
  • The insider thinks the title could turn out to be successful for Ubisoft.

The reveal of Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced has been met with unexpected universal acclaim from gamers. As a result, Ubisoft has already started developing another remake in the franchise, and many insiders suggest that the French publisher could turn into a remake studio if Black Flag succeeds.

Another IP in the Ubisoft pipeline that is reportedly set for a remake is Rayman, with rumors suggesting 2013’s Rayman Legends is getting a modern adaptation. Now, an insider has revealed that fans will only need to wait till the summer to get an official look at the platformer.

Why it matters: Rayman is one of the most iconic platformers from the PlayStation 1 era, and seeing it make a return in modern times is a big victory for fans.

While speaking on the Insider Gaming podcast, Tom Henderson revealed that Ubisoft might announce the Rayman Legends remake in the Summer.

I think we’ll hear about it this Summer. I’m hearing quite a lot of positive things about the Rayman Legends remake. That’s coming back with co-op and everything people loved from that game (the original). So, that’s going to do well for them, I think.

The insider stated that he has heard a lot of positive stuff about the game, and Ubisoft is bringing back everything fans loved in the original Rayman Legends, including the co-op mode. Hence, Tom Henderson thinks that the platformer could go on to be a big success for Ubisoft.

Rumors regarding a new Rayman remake have been circulating for a while now, with Prince of Persia developers getting assigned to the title in 2024. A Ubisoft employee also revealed last year that a remake of the first game in the series was also in development before being canned in 2021.

The last title in the franchise came out 13 years ago.

Titled The Story of Rayman, this remake was supposedly scrapped due to cost-cutting purposes. However, it doesn’t feel like Rayman Legends will suffer the same consequences as the internal buzz surrounding the remake is quite positive.
