- Nvidia has confirmed that despite the recent rumors, the RTX 5090 is still in production.
- The company’s VP says that the supply chain is affected, but they’re still making it.
- However, the prices aren’t expected to drop, with some variants even crossing $10k.
The memory crisis is still at its worst, with GPU, RAM, and storage still costing a fortune. Unfortunately, it’s still not expected to get better any time soon. Some recent reports also pointed to Nvidia cancelling the GeForce RTX 5090.
However, Nvidia has confirmed that it’s not discontinuing the RTX 5090 despite the rumors. It was reported that they are getting rid of the GPU to save the GB202 chip for the more data center-focused RTX Pro lineup.
Why it matters: The prices have been insane for Nvidia’s highest-end GPU, and since regular consumers were already not buying it, the move would’ve been to prioritize the profits from enterprise sales.

Taiwanese site 4Gamers revealed details from Nvidia’s VP, Jeff Fisher’s recent interview, where he was asked about the status of the RTX 5090, to which he replied that it’s still in production despite the recent belief that it isn’t.
Although there are other variants of the RTX 5090 (chip), production has not been discontinued, and NVIDIA will continue to ship, which is very important

He said the supply chain is restricted, but Nvidia is still trying to produce as many GPUs as possible, and they want them readily available on storefronts. The prices, however, aren’t expected to take a hit.
Some top RTX 5090 variants, like the ROG Astral, are even selling for a ridiculous $12,000, while most regular variants are still over $8,000. So, while it isn’t being canceled, the prices aren’t coming down either.
