GTA 6 is undoubtedly going to be the industry’s biggest success. Expected to break every single record and then some, Rockstar Games is gearing up to launch a title that will leave everything else in the dust.

Expectations are so high for GTA 6 that a former PlayStation executive believes only a future GTA title could beat it.

Why it matters: GTA 7 is unlikely to launch anytime soon, especially if the gap between GTA 5 and GTA 6 is anything to go by.

On a recent podcast, former PlayStation boss Shuhei Yoshida was recently asked to comment on whether another game could eventually end up matching GTA 6’s hype and excitement.

He noted that this type of hype might only be matched by GTA 7 in the future because of how much of a gigantic series Grand Theft Auto has recently turned into.

After 15 years, maybe GTA 7, we’ll see.

Shuhei Yoshida also discussed the possibility of a Chinese game being able to rise to a similar level as GTA 6.

With games like Black Myth: Wukong showing just how the Chinese audience for games really is, he believes that this part of the market should not be underestimated.

It remains to be seen just how successful GTA 6 will be when it releases. The game should easily generate billions of dollars in revenue, marking a new high for the entire industry.
