The gaming industry is going through somewhat of an unfortunate time, where layoffs have become highly frequent due to humongous budgets and high operating costs. Bungie and Halo Studios have been particularly affected in the last few years.

Bungie has been in a bad state since before PlayStation took over, and Halo Studios saw most of its team laid off very recently. A Halo Veteran says Activision should hire those laid-off devs as they’re full of talent.

Why it matters: There is absolutely no doubt that the developers at both studios are immensely talented. Despite a few weak last years, they have previously delivered consistently great-quality releases. 

On LinkedIn, a 19-year-old Xbox veteran, Frank O’Connor, commented on a post talking about Halo’s transition over to Activision. He suggested that Activision now hire the laid-off Bungie and Halo Studios, developers. 

Hire Bungie, Halo Studios and other laid off folk who are bursting w. talent and ideas that got nerfed or shut down over the years.

He commended the studio for making certain changes to make Halo great again. O’Connor suggested that the studio make a classic sandbox-style shooter, and it could benefit from more talent since CoD studio won’t likely work on Halo. 

Bungie has a history with Halo, and Halo Studios was of course built specifically around the franchise. So, yes, with Activision now handling the franchise, they could do with some experienced, talented folks for the next installment.
