  • The ex-God of War developer says that Insomniac Games should’ve delivered something truly exciting and action-packed for Wolverine.

By now, it’s clear that Marvel’s Wolverine hasn’t resonated well with everyone. In particular, the game has garnered a lot of criticism, with Insomniac Games also taking some of that criticism to heart and altering parts of the experience.

Adding to the debate, former God of War creator has shared his thoughts on Marvel’s Wolverine. Over on YouTube, he dubbed the game offensive for how uninspired it is.

Why it matters: David Jaffe already had his reservations about Marvel’s Wolverine, and it appears his thoughts on the game haven’t changed much following the full release.

David Jaffe has made multiple videos discussing his thoughts on Marvel’s Wolverine. His latest video notes that Insomniac Games’ work is incredibly mediocre.

Jaffe feels the team should have brought something special to the table from the beginning and focused more on Wolverine’s explosive gameplay as opposed to exposition and narrative cutscenes.

He also argues that a game like Mortal Shell feels a lot more satisfying to play in terms of the combat itself. As per David Jaffe, Marvel’s Wolverine should’ve been less about the story-telling and more about the gameplay itself.

Ultimately, he thinks the game is not bad but nothing special either.

Insomniac leadership, you guys should be ashamed of yourself. Leadership should be held accountable for this. It’s offensively uninspired.

It’s so vanilla and dull, and it just makes me mad.
