Following reports of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake competing with GTA 6 due to the two games’ clashing release windows, Nintendo has officially shared an exact release date for the title.
In addition to sharing gameplay of the remake, Nintendo confirms that it will launch on November 5.
Why it matters: GTA 6 is coming on November 19, and with both games being as big as they will be, the competition between the two will certainly be interesting. Where most other studios have decided to avoid clashing with GTA 6, Nintendo is taking a different approach.
Nintendo recently wrapped up its Direct celebrating 40 years of The Legend of Zelda. Focusing on Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake, the gaming giant shared a set of exciting new details for the game.
In addition to the release date, an extended three-minute gameplay trailer shows some of what Nintendo is changing with the remake. For starters, the trailer shows jumping and free camera movement.
It also showcases the series’ classic combat in action. Nintendo has even highlighted a brand new special edition Switch 2 console to mark the occasion and celebrate the upcoming remake.
As for the competition between GTA 6 and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake, the former will certainly be the bigger game. However, because Nintendo’s audience is so distinct, the upcoming remake will likely hold its own quite well too.
