PlayStation’s latest State of Play was undoubtedly a bit underwhelming. Although Naughty Dog has reached a major milestone for Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, this game was completely missing from the show.
Similarly, titles like God of War: Laufey were nowhere to be seen. In the wake of this disappointment, the livestream saw fans leaving numerous “No Disc, No Buy” comments.
Why it matters: PlayStation is hoping for the physical disc backlash to simply fade away over time as it pushes an all-digital future, but it seems fans aren’t quite ready to give up just yet.
As seen above, PlayStation’s latest State of Play showcase has become the target of a fan protest, with viewers repeatedly spamming “No Disc, No Buy” across the stream’s live chat.
Looking at the comments section right now, most of the top comments are related to PlayStation’s decision to get rid of physical discs. Of course, this means that player backlash to this decision hasn’t disappeared just yet.
Interestingly, many were also calling for Destiny 3 in the live chat, an interesting turn of events, particularly after Marathon’s dwindling popularity in recent months.

These comments aside, it didn’t help that the State of Play itself was far from impressive. Some have even called it one of PlayStation’s worst State of Play showcases to date.
