PlayStation wrapped up its September State of Play just a couple of hours ago. Overall, the event was quite dull, with yet another look at Marvel’s Wolverine, Until Dawn 2’s release date, and Final Fantasy, but mostly there were indie titles.

Most of the fans were expecting Naughty Dog’s Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet to headline the event as the closer, but they have once again been disappointed, as the 2024-announced title was yet again a no-show

Why it matters: Fans are extremely disappointed at the studio for a lack of new releases. Its latest game was The Last of Us Part 2 from 2020, and since then, everything the team has released has been remakes and remasters.

There were rumors that Intergalactic would finally show up at the State of Play, as its development is reportedly nearing the end. However, to many fans’ disappointment, 2 years later, we still didn’t get anything.

What once used to be the most loved PlayStation studio, with regular launches and hits like The Last of Us and Uncharted, has fallen in reputation. The lack of new games has really stung, and the current tactics aren’t helping.
