- Naughty Dog says shooting has wrapped for Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet.
- The update could mean that Naughty Dog’s big AAA title is closer than ever to its release.
- With a new PlayStation State of Play on the horizon, a new look at the title is expected soon.
Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet was first announced a while back, but Naughty Dog fans are growing restless due to the lack of updates. Following a lot of concern, the team has finally shared an important update for the fans.
As per Naughty Dog, its latest project has now reached an important development milestone.
Why it matters: Between multiple remasters and a cancelled live-service release, Naughty Dog has faced much criticism over the last few years. Its upcoming project could turn things around for the team.
"See you, space cowboy…"
That is a wrap on the very ambitious Intergalactic cinematic shoot! This cast killed it! Cannot wait to show you their incredible work when the time is right! pic.twitter.com/WgqgcHGm8K— Naughty Dog (@Naughty_Dog) August 31, 2026
Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet has officially completed shooting.
Taking to Twitter, the team said, “See you, space cowboy,” referencing the hit anime Cowboy Bebop. This is the first major update the team has shared in a while, and it means that the studio is making meaningful progress on the title.
Interestingly, this update arrives following the announcement of a new PlayStation State of Play. This could mean that Naughty Dog is preparing a new look at the game, whether it be gameplay or another cinematic title.

For reference, The Last of Us Part 2 finished its shooting around one year before its release. However, this was when the game was delayed for polishing and faced setbacks due to lockdowns in 2020.
If the same timeline holds, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet could launch at some point next year, as many had already predicted before.
