Fable's Hardware Specs by Resolution Revealed!

Story Highlight
  • The PC requirements range from budget setups for 1080p at 30 FPS up to top-tier hardware (such as an RTX 4080/5080 and high-end CPUs) for 4K at 60 FPS.
  • Every setting tier demands at least 135 GB on a solid-state drive, along with 12 GB to 16 GB of system RAM.
  • The game launches on February 23, 2027, for PC and Xbox Series X/S.

Microsoft and Playground Games have finally revealed the PC system requirements for Fable, one of the most anticipated RPGs that is coming soon. The requirements cover everything from a 1080p/30 FPS Low configuration to a demanding 4K/60 FPS Ultra setup, showing just how scalable the game will be. While players can run the game on an entry-level configuration, those who want the highest possible visual quality will need a very high-end PC.

Fable’s minimum system requirements are for a 1920 x 1080 resolution, low settings, and a 30 FPS gameplay experience. This requires a 6-core CPU, such as the AMD Ryzen 5 2600 or Intel Core i7-6850K, 12 GB of RAM, and a GPU with at least 6 GB of VRAM. Playground Games offers the GeForce RTX 2060 or RTX 5050, Radeon RX 6600, and Intel Arc A580 as alternatives.

The next stage considerably increases the hardware requirements. For a gaming experience at Quad HD resolution at 30 FPS with Medium graphics settings, you’ll need a more powerful 6-core CPU, such as the Ryzen 5 5600 or Core i5-11600KF, 16 GB of RAM, and an 8 GB GPU.

Official options are the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti or RTX 5060, as well as the Radeon RX 6700 XT or RX 9060 XT. To achieve high quality and 60 FPS, an 8-core CPU such as the Ryzen 7 7700X or Core i7-12700K is required, together with a GeForce RTX 3080 Ti or RTX 5070, or a Radeon RX 7900 XT or RX 9070, each with 12 GB of VRAM.

About the Ultra configuration, which is optimized for gaming with 3840 x 2160 pixels (4K) and 60 FPS. Here, Fable requires a powerful AMD Ryzen 9 7900X or Intel Core i9-13900K processor, 16 GB of RAM, and a graphics card with 16 GB of VRAM.

Microsoft lists only two GPUs for this scenario: the GeForce RTX 4080 and the GeForce RTX 5080. All configurations require an SSD with at least 135 GB of free space. To maximize system performance, the developers recommend enabling Resizable BAR, Intel XMP, or AMD EXPO profiles.

The new Fable is a fresh start for the franchise. While it does not directly continue the narrative of the original Lionhead Studios titles, its successor, Playground Games, claims to have based the game on three basic pillars of the saga: the fairy tale premise, the game’s distinct British flavor, and player choices. Thus, we return to Albion, but with new characters, areas, and a stand-alone adventure.

Decisions will once again have effects and will be linked to the reputation system. The people of Albion can see the protagonist’s acts, and each character will interpret them differently, altering their perception of our hero. Outside of the main storyline, players will be able to earn money by owning property or working as a blacksmith, form romantic relationships, start a family, and create their own identity in the universe.

Overall, Fable is shaping up to be a quality RPG release, combining its classic fantasy world and familiar creatures with a more flexible combat system and appealing visuals. The game will launch on PC and Xbox Series X|S consoles and will also debut on Game Pass on February 23, 2027. The game will cost €69.99 on Steam (€99.99 for the Premium Edition, which allows you to play five days before launch).
