Control Resonant, Remedy’s must-play title, will be available to play in just over a month. Today, the team has also confirmed that the title has now gone gold, meaning fans shouldn’t expect any additional delays.
With that said, however, the team has confirmed that Control Resonant’s physical release is being pushed back.
Why it matters: Remedy previously launched Alan Wake 2 on disc over a year after the initial release. Control Resonant seems to be unintentionally repeating the pattern of not launching on disc at the same time as the digital edition.

As per Remedy’s official Twitter account, Control Resonant will not be available on physical disc when the game launches next month.
The digital edition is still confirmed to arrive on September 24. However, the physical version has shifted to October 15, creating a roughly three-week-long gap between the digital launch and the disc release.
Remedy has not provided a concrete reason for this last-minute delay, noting that the team needs more time to deliver the physical version. The studio does say that fans should rest assured for the time being.
The good news here is that this should lead to a more complete disc release. When fans pick up the discs in October, this version of the game should come with any updates and patches already installed.
Another piece of good news is that the team isn’t denying a disc-based release outright as it did before for Alan Wake 2. A delayed launch could also help the game gain more exposure due to it becoming relevant in the news cycle for the second time.
