Story Highlight
  • A US Army battalion in Georgia is giving soldiers four days off to play GTA 6.
  • Anyone who reenlists between August 1st and November 14th will get the special incentive in November.
  • The battalion is handing out this holiday to boost morale in the ranks and thank soldiers for their service.

After over a decade of waiting and a series of delays, fans can finally say that GTA 6 is just around the corner. Take-Two has started to market the upcoming title extensively, announcing a deal with Netflix that the gaming industry has never seen before.

The $100 Ultimate Edition of GTA 6 is also selling like hotcakes, with 90% of the players picking the more expensive variant of the title instead of the cheaper standard edition. As it turns out, the hype has also reached the US Army, which is trying to enlist soldiers with incentives related to the Rockstar game.

Why it matters: Rockstar has received a lot of criticism from fans due to the bland marketing around GTA 6. However, instances like this and the Netflix deal emphasize how the franchise doesn’t really need a lot of effort to gain attention.

As revealed by a US Army page on Instagram, a battalion in Georgia is giving every soldier who re-enlists four days off to play GTA 6 when the title launches in November. The 9th Engineer Battalion at Fort Stewart is offering this incentive to anyone who signs the reenlistment form between August 1 and November 14.

The chain of command will hammer out the exact dates of the four-day holiday, but the reenlistment incentive assures that it’ll align with the release date of GTA 6 on November 19, 2026.

According to the flyer, this holiday is meant to promote morale and reward the dedication of the soldiers by allowing them to experience one of the biggest entertainment releases of this century.

GTA 6 Ultimate Edition Sales
The Ultimate Edition of GTA 6 is breaking industry averages, with most fans opting for the $100 variant.

Rockstar has garnered a lot of criticism in the past few months for the lack of hype and excitement around the marketing of GTA 6. But considering how Netflix agreed to pay $100 million for a 6-hour exclusivity window while the Ultimate Edition is breaking industry expectations, it’s safe to say that the franchise itself doesn’t need a lot of marketing to attract attention.
