- Halo made its debut on PlayStation but hasn’t resonated well with the players.
- Campaign Evolved managed to capture just 1% of the PS5 player base in the US.
- Data suggests the player engagement on all platforms isn’t that great either.
Halo Campaign Evolved was highly anticipated, considering it marked the return of a classic and the introduction to the franchise for PlayStation gamers. However, the title hasn’t impressed much and had an underwhelming launch.
Despite specifically targeting PS5, new data suggests that Halo managed to capture just 1% of the PlayStation fan base in the US with Campaign Evolved. The series’ debut on the platform hasn’t been what Xbox might’ve expected.
Why it matters: Halo is among the holy trinity of Xbox franchises, so its going multiplatform was a huge deal. Unfortunately, the classic’s remake hasn’t made much of an impression on the fan base either.
Circana’s data shows that Halo was rather disappointing on PlayStation. In terms of player tracking stats, Campaign Evolved was 4th on Xbox, 14th on Steam, and a measly 29th on its debut platform, the PlayStation 5.
This means only 1% of the fan base gave the title a go. Circana’s Mat Piscatella says this shows how hard the entry point for a new franchise is at this point. However, there are things wrong with the remake as well.

It currently has a user score of just 5.2 on Metacritic, and fans have tons of complaints. Most people state that the only good parts of the game are the OG elements, and everything new is completely disappointing.
