- PlayStation had gone radio silent after announcing the end of physical media production.
- It has reemerged on social media, and the post has over 25K comments in under an hour.
- All the comments only demand one thing: to reverse the disc cancellation decision.
PlayStation isn’t having a good week since it officially confirmed the end of physical media from 2028. Fans have been furious at this, cancelling PS Plus subscriptions as a protest and filing a petition which has now over 170K signatures.
Since the announcement, the company had gone radio silent, and after 6 days, it has finally posted on social media once again, and the post has been bombarded with demands to bring back physical media for PlayStation.
Why it matters: The backlash had become so pronounced that fans believed Sony was hiding from its audience. They have even threatened to boycott the PS6 if the company doesn’t reverse its decision.

The new post by PlayStation promoting its Wireless Fightstick has garnered over 20K comments in just under an hour. This is among the highest engagements on their social media ever, but fans only want one thing.
All the comments have one unanimous demand: to cancel their decision to kill discs and return to physical media. The company will certainly have heard it all by now, but it is now a little too late to reverse the decision.

There have been claims that Sony has already shut down its factory producing discs. However, it isn’t confirmed if it’s true since the company has confirmed it’ll continue making them for games releasing before 2028.
