  • The NAND market will also see a similar trend, where it could grow by over 200%.

As the DRAM crisis continues, prices remain high while manufacturers’ revenues are skyrocketing. A big chunk of this revenue comes from the massive demand from AI data centers, which will lead to massive year-on-year profit growth.

According to a new analysis, the global DRAM market is expected to see a whopping 300% growth in YoY in 2026, largely led by AI demand. The market is expected to grow even further in the subsequent year.

Why it matters: General consumers did get a brief sigh of relief when prices came down just a little bit. However, they are still as high as ever, and the trend will likely continue at least till 2027, unless there’s a miracle.

DRAM Market Growth
The DRAM market revenue is expected to grow by over 300% in 2026

According to data from TrendForce, the DRAM market recorded a revenue of around $153 billion in 2025, and the number is expected to grow by around 300% in 2025, with forecasts reaching over $618 billion in revenue.

Furthermore, the figures will likely grow even further in 2027, with revenue numbers reaching around $900 billion, thanks to agentic AI. We also see a very similar trend for NAND, although it’s not equally high.

DRAM and NAND Shortage
The memory crisis is expected to continue at least till 2027

But this still isn’t a small number either, as forecasted growth will be over 200% YoY. So, this gives us a good idea that the demand will continue to remain substantially high in 2026 and through 2027 as well.

The biggest affectees from this memory crisis have been regular consumers who wanted to build a gaming PC on a budget. This has even led them to return to AM4, and AMD seems to be bringing back the socket as well.
