- The Blood of Dawnwalker game director, Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, has confirmed the game’s estimated playtime.
- Each playthrough might take an average of 50 hours, with some players even hitting 70 hours.
- Players will be able to experience about 80% of the content before the campaign’s 30-day timer runs out.
The Blood of Dawnwalker is among the most anticipated games of this year. It was always meant to be focused without all the bloat and filler. Plus, a modest team size made up of ex-CDPR developers also convinced many gamers to expect a smaller experience.
However, a new tidbit confirms that this dark-fantasy vampiric RPG is a full-fledged AAA venture now. Game director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz mentions that Rebel Wolves initially aimed for a 40-hour campaign, but it has evolved to possess an average playtime of 50 hours.
Why it matters: The Blood of Dawnwalker has come a long way, now boasting a playtime equal to other AAA action RPG titles despite using a unique time-based campaign formula.

Speaking to Gamereactor UK, the game director says that playtime mostly depends on each player’s approach. For example, elements like difficulty level, how much you explore, how much you upgrade your gear, time spent on sidequests, etc., will drive up your playtime.
It’s funny, because when we first started to work, we planned it for 40 hours. Right now, the average is around 50 hours.

Absolute completionists might have to spend over 70 hours to experience everything. Additionally, the 30-day time-locked campaign mechanic will only let you explore about 80% of all the content Blood of Dawnwalker has to offer before you reach the ending.
Lately, a few persons from our team finished the game… and there are big differences between them. It’s like from 50 hours to around 70.
So, players will need to spend multiple playthroughs and explore various routes to get the best out of the grim RPG.

Rebel Wolves previously clarified that Blood of Dawnwalker aims to set itself as a unique RPG experience, something akin to Crimson Desert and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.
The new story trailer revealed that it is set to launch on September 3, 2026, so it will compete with some of the biggest titles from the get-go.
