Sledgehammer Games New Job Listing Suggests Call of Duty Switch Ports Are In The Works

Last Call of Duty Game On Nintendo Was 12 Years Ago!

Story Highlight
  • Sledgehammer Games is hiring a Senior Technical Artist for its future projects.
  • The job requirements hint that the studio could be working on Call of Duty Switch ports.
  • The franchise hasn’t been on the Nintendo platform for over 12 years now.

When Microsoft acquired Activision Blizzard, it was legally decided that the Call of Duty franchise would be heading over to Nintendo. While in 2 years, that hasn’t happened yet, it could change very soon with this new finding.

A new job listing by Sledgehammer Games suggests Call of Duty Switch ports are finally in the works. The listing for the ‘Senior Technical Artist’ requires the candidate to have experience with the Switch and live service games.

Why it matters: Call of Duty not being on the original Switch made sense considering it wasn’t powerful enough for modern titles, but with the Switch 2, the capabilities are much higher, so the ports could be coming soon.

Sledgehammer is known for its work on Call of Duty, so it’s only natural that the listing is for Activision’s first-person shooter game. The requirements of Live Service and Switch Experience all but confirm Call of Duty on Switch

There have already been reports that Black Ops 7 or the next entry might release on the Switch 2, so that could be a start. We might also see older titles coming to Nintendo; however, this is pure speculation for now.

Future Call of Duty games might see Nintendo releases as well

The last Call of Duty game to arrive on Nintendo was 2013’s Ghosts, released on the Wii U, which had a decent reception. So, after 12 long years, we could finally see the franchise make a comeback on the Switch 2.
