BioWare Has Also Revealed Continued Work On The Next Game!

Story Highlight
  • Mass Effect TV Show is officially in the works and will follow an original story.
  • It is being developed with Amazon and will be set after the events of the trilogy.
  • The scripting is under way and they’ve figured out how to make the show canon.

The original Mass Effect trilogy concluded in 2012, is considered one of the finest EA franchises. While they did try to keep the series going with other releases, they couldn’t top the originals, but today is a great day for the fans of the IP.

Not only has BioWare confirmed that the next entry is in development, but Amazon is also working on a Mass Effect live-action TV show, which will be an original story and set after the events of the trilogy.

Why it matters: The series has the potential to be a great TV show. It has everything from complex characters to world-building to political themes and more, than can be delivered well with a TV adaptation.

Today, on the N7 day, Mass Effect Executive Producer penned a note revealing continued work on the game, along with a TV show in collaboration with Amazon. They say they’ve figured out how to make the show canon.

It is still in very early stages, so most can’t be revealed just yet. The TV show will be canon and will sit in respect with the new game. It’ll be a brand new story post the events of the trilogy because the audience wants something fresh.

Mass Effect
BioWare has also announced continued work on the next Mass Effect game

This seems like a good idea, as it will allow creative freedom while keeping the essence of the games. If stories deviate from the source material, fans don’t really like it, as we have seen with The Witcher show.
