- Battlefield 6 beta has resulted in EA’s stock to surge by a massive 10% compared to the last week.
- EA’s stock has reached an all-time high at $176.11.
- Battlefield 6 is speculated to become this year’s biggest release with the beta already outpacing Call of Duty.
The first week of Battlefield 6 beta is officially over and the game has already broken several records. From beating Call of Duty’s concurrent player peak in just days to having thousands of players waiting in queue to play the game, Battlefield 6 is making huge waves.
Despite not having been fully released, Battlefield 6 surged EA’s stock to an all-time high with a gigantic rise of almost 10% in just a week.
Why it matters: The Battlefield franchise has been struggling for the past few years, that is, until now. Being the biggest franchise under EA, the game’s performance will undoubtedly help the publisher bounce back from recent setbacks.
On Monday, 11 August, EA’s stock reached $176.11, bringing the overall market capitalisation to $41.94 billion. The stock was boosted by 5% from Sunday and overall by 10% from last week.
The overall share cost has increased by almost $16 in just a week. Analysts predict that the stocks could rise as much as $210.00 and as little as $127.00. The general consensus is a percentage decrease of 2.02% from the current stock price of $176.11.
The second beta, scheduled from the 14th to the 17th, will introduce important changes and upgrades from the current version.
Although not perfect, the Battlefield 6 beta was surprisingly stable, especially considering it was a beta version and nearly three months older than the current build EA is developing.
For this year, Battlefield 6 is expected to boot stomp Call of Duty, with the latter franchise going downhill for the past few entries. EA has the perfect opportunity to capitalise and once again bring some proper competition to the FPS genre, which has been becoming quite stale recently.
