- Intel has slashed the prices of its Core Ultra 7 265K and 265KF processors.
- The Core Ultra 7 265K is now $259.99, down from $399. The Core Ultra 7 265KF is now $229, down from $384.
- AMD’s Ryzen 7 9800X3D is faster than Intel’s Core Ultra 7 265K by 14% at 1080p, 7.8% at 1440p, and 2.9% at 4K.
First, it was Intel’s Core Ultra Arrow Lake processors that received a massive price cut from the original launch MSRPs. And now, as the business puts more pressure on AMD in the low-cost gaming CPU market, Intel has lowered the price of its Core Ultra 7 265K and Core Ultra 7 265KF processors once more.
For comparison, the Intel Core Ultra 7 265K was first offered for $399 at retail, but it is currently available for $259.99. Originally priced at $384, the Core Ultra 7 265KF, its non-graphics variant, decreased to $284, and is currently only $229.
The Intel Core Ultra 7 265KF CPU has eight P-cores and twelve E-cores. Even though the (F) version of the 265K does not include an iGPU, it can still be overclocked. The processor has a base power consumption of 125W and is compatible with the LGA1851 socket, so remember you have to buy a compatible motherboard. With boost clocks of 5.4 GHz and 4.6 GHz, the P-core and E-core base clock speeds are 3.9 GHz and 3.3 GHz, respectively.
Suppose we compare the AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D, the greatest gaming CPU currently on the market, with the Intel Core Ultra 7 265K. The Ryzen 7 9800X3D is 14% faster at 1080p resolution. When the resolution is 2K or Quad HD, the performance difference decreases to 7.8%. The difference is merely 2.9% at 4K resolution.
Although we can see that the AMD processor is definitely faster than the Intel processor, if we compare them with their price, Intel turns out to be better. The AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D costs $472, while the Intel Core Ultra 7 265K is now on sale for $259.99 on Amazon.
This means that the Intel processor essentially costs 45% less for 2.9% to 14% less performance, depending on the resolution. So if you do not have spare money you should go for the Intel Core Ultra 7 265K has it is worth every dollar for the price it offers.
