- Summer Game Fest on Twitter posted a poll asking gamers about their preferred platform to play games on.
- Most of them chose PlayStation and PC as their preferred platforms.
- A very small number of gamers chose Nintendo and Xbox.
There has always been an argument about which gaming platform reigns supreme. PC has proven to be the most popular and liked platform, but fans are still not sure which one gamers prefer to play their games on.
A major poll recently concluded that gamers prefer playing their games on a PlayStation, which doesn’t seem surprising given that games are well-optimized for consoles and that PlayStation fans are massive.
Why it matters: PlayStation 5 has some of the best exclusives, and many more compelling ones will be released this year, which gives it an upper hand over other platforms.

Summer Game Fest, a really popular gaming event, recently conducted a Twitter poll asking its followers where they play most of their games. The poll has reached almost 27k votes; among them, 41.5% have voted for PlayStation, which isn’t surprising.
37.3% of the gamers voted for PC, 14.8% chose Xbox, and only 6.3% went for Nintendo Switch, which is surprising given how popular this platform is. In many instances, the fandom has chosen the PC platform to be the best one, but this poll doesn’t really discuss which one is superior.
Steam has many players, so the PC gamers may be way more than all the consoles’ players combined. However, this poll isn’t about that; it asks the fandom which platform they prefer to play games on.

As PlayStation still has some exclusives, the fandom may prefer playing them instead of using an emulator on the PC. Eventually, when all of the exclusives from the PlayStation are released on the PC, it would be good to see the results from such polls again.
Some fans were even surprised by the high percentage of votes the PC platform managed to get. However, others weren’t as surprised, given that there is no fee to play online and, of course, Steam.
Also, many gamers own several platforms, so it makes sense why they would want to choose PlayStation for gaming. If we take optimization into account, PS may be best for single-player games.
