Story Highlight
  • Switch 2 will get a massive marketing push with Nintendo putting nearly $1 billion in advertising the console.
  • The Japanese company will spend 62% more in the next fiscal year for advertising purposes.
  • The $966 million it’ll spend is only 7.2% of its revenue.

Expectations for the Nintendo Switch 2 are sky high, with the company backing it up with an exclusive lineup even Sony is jealous of, thanks to titles like The Duskbloods. Analysts are already predicting that the console’s launch will be one to behold, with the new hardware poised to sell a whopping 15 million units in its first year.

Nintendo is pulling out every stop to ensure this happens, as the Japanese gaming giant is apparently looking to spend a massive amount on marketing Nintendo Switch 2.

Why This Matters: With massive anticipation and an even bigger marketing push, the Switch 2 will bring in some much-needed revenue for the industry.

Nintendo Switch 2 marketing will be the biggest in the company’s history

While sharing its financial report for the fiscal year ending March 2025, Nintendo revealed that it is going to spend a whopping $966 million for advertising purposes in the coming year, showcasing the massive push Nintendo Switch 2 is about to receive.

The company is increasing its marketing expenditures by 62% for the next tenure, which aligns with the launch year of the handheld. Furthermore, this is going to be the highest ad spend in Nintendo’s history, meaning that Switch 2 is getting the biggest marketing push ever.

To further put the Japanese giant’s power into perspective, this $1 billion marketing spend is only 7.4% of the revenue Nintendo made in the previous fiscal year. Hence, if Switch 2 is as successful as many predictions claim it will be, the company will take one more step in cementing its name as the top dog of the industry.

The early signs are positive for the upcoming console so far, with demand exceeding expectations and forecasts stating that the Nintendo Switch 2 will sell at least 6 million units in launch week alone.
