The Last of Us Part 2 Reached Over 23K Concurrent Players on Steam

Low Numbers Due To The PSN Restriction!

Story Highlight
  • The Last of Us Part 2’s PC port has been officially released.
  • The PC port managed to attract over 23k players during the weekdays.
  • This peak is expected to grow even more on the weekends, but it could have been much higher if there had been no PSN restriction.

The Last of Us Part 2 is arguably one of the most hyped PlayStation releases on PC. This game was released in 2020 on the PS4, and ever since, the fandom has wished for a PC Port. The demand for this game’s port increased significantly after the first part was launched on PC.

However, the PSN restriction seems to have hurt its sales. TLOU2 reached a peak of just over 23K on Steam, which is not that good, given its hype.

Why it matters: The Last of Us Part 2 is arguably one of the well-written games in the history, and due to it being exclusive to PlayStation for so long, PC fans have longed to play it.

As you can see in the image, the game’s 24-hour peak is 23,350. While it isn’t bad by any means for a 5-year-old game, it could have been way better if the title had been released in all regions.

The PSN restriction has been hurting Sony’s sales, but the company is fixated on not removing it. The company even fails to provide a compelling reason to the fandom regarding why the restriction is important.

This all-time peak was seen 14 hours ago, but it is expected to grow even more. The game was released during the weekdays, so in the upcoming days, the numbers are expected to reach 40K. Now, imagine the concurrent players it could have reached if there had been no unnecessary restrictions.

The game’s reviews are also pretty positive. Over 2k reviews have been posted so far, and almost 87% of them are very positive
