- Death Stranding 2 has been rated in South Korea, suggesting that its PlayStation 5 launch is coming.
- The game has been classified as “Not available for minors” due to violence and profanities.
- The sequel has been confirmed by Kojima to launch in 2025.
The gaming world only has a few auteurs with Hideo Kojima arguably being the most popular among them all. The Japanese game developer has been making whacky titles that push the limits of the medium since the 90’s and with several projects planned for the future, he isn’t stopping anytime soon.
One such title is Death Stranding 2, which was revealed a few years ago and has been in development for quite some time. And, a new rating suggests that the release of the highly anticipated sequel might be coming soon.
Why it matters: Death Stranding 2 is one of the most exciting gaming sequels in development and a rating confirms that the game will hit PS5 this year.
Death Stranding 2: On The Beach has been rated in South Korea, with the classification board stating it is “Not available for minors.” According to the rating description, the sequel is an adventure title about delivering parcels across a post-apocalyptic landscape, similar to the original.
The reasons for a high rating are excessive violence in the game in addition to vulgar language with swear words and profanity. Hence, there is nothing too surprising in the rating description, with the Kojima title also set to feature smoking and drinking.
The director said last year that Death Stranding 2 wasn’t even halfway done yet, but ratings popping up suggest that the release is a few months away. With Kojima saying the sequel is going to be weirder and will have more violence, the hype for the title is through the roof.
The sequel is also set to display the true strength of PS5 Pro with updated graphics but only time will tell if it’ll make its 2025 release window. Do you think Death Stranding 2 is going to launch this year? Tell us in the comments below or head to the Tech4Gamers forum for discussion.
