Red Dead Redemption, released in 2010, is still among the most demanded PC ports of all time. Although the game has been available for over 14 years, fans have long waited for a PC port.
The game was recently remastered for consoles, so fans had hope for a PC launch, too. It was previously confirmed that the game is indeed coming to PC, but not anytime soon. However, new details have been revealed on this port, thanks to a data leak from Epic Games.
Why it matters: Rockstar has long neglected PC fans for this game, even though the biggest fandom exists on this platform.
On Twitter, Videotechuk highlighted that Epic Games faced a massive data leak. Due to that, many upcoming PC games were leaked: Final Fantasy 16, Final Fantasy 9 Remake, The Last of Us Part 2, and Red Dead Redemption.
We also know the game’s download size now. It will take up 9.17GB of your storage, which makes sense, given that it is 11.4GB on consoles. The PC port is codenamed Semla and was added to the backend of Epic Game Store on February 1, 2024.
The last modification was made just the next day, so there could be more in the future. This again confirms that the PC version is definitely happening, even if the fandom has to wait.
The fans will soon be able to embark on a journey with John Marston and see the end of the saga that began in Red Dead Redemption 2. The game already runs at 60FPS on consoles, but the addition of keyboard and mouse controls should make the gameplay better than ever.
For those who originally finished this Rockstar hit on Xbox 360 or PS3, the PC version should be a massive upgrade. Although it’s been more than 10 years, fans will be glad that Rockstar is finally adding this classic to its PC catalog.
