- Capcom is reportedly working on remakes of Resident Evil Zero and Code Veronica.
- Code Veronica is being developed by Capcom Dev 1, while Zero is being developed by K2 & M-Two.
- Both games are in good hands, as the developers have worked on various remakes, such as Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 3.
It was recently reported that Capcom has been working on remakes of Resident Evil Zero and Code Veronica for more than a year. The source of these leaks has also shared information on the developers behind these projects.
According to the leaker, Code Veronica’s remake is being handled by the same studio that released the critically acclaimed Resident Evil 4 Remake last year.
Why it matters: Resident Evil Zero is considered a spin-off for the IP, but it seems Capcom is giving it the mainline remake treatment since the studio’s A-team is working on the project.
According to Dusk Golem, Resident Evil Code Veronica Remake is being developed by Capcom Dev 1, the team behind Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 4 Remakes.
Meanwhile, Resident Evil Zero Remake is being worked on by the team behind Resident Evil 3 Remake, K2 & M-Two. As such, Code Veronica seems to be in safe hands after two back-to-back hits from Capcom Dev 1.
On the other hand, K2 & M-Two worked on Resident Evil 4 Separate Ways and Resident Evil 3 Remake. While the latter was not the most well-received, Separate Ways showed a notable improvement.
This information has led to even more anticipation among fans. Resident Evil Code Veronica Remake, in particular, sounds very promising, considering this project is highly awaited.
Seeing how great of a job Capcom has done with the remakes up until now, the fandom is more excited than ever. It is also important to note that a whopping five games are in the works across this series.
Therefore, there will be something for everyone in the coming years.
Resident Evil 9 is also in the works as an open world entry, but the game seems to be facing a few unexpected delays.
However, all these projects have been reported so far and have not been confirmed. We can expect official reveals sometime in the near future since various gaming events are lined up for the second half of 2024.
