PlayStation’s first live-service shooter title in many years is off to a great start. Helldivers 2 is currently the number one best-selling game on Steam. It has overtaken the likes of Palworld and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.
Why it matters: PlayStation has lacked a proper multiplayer title for ages. Last year, live-service games dominated the competition, encouraging Sony to experiment with the genre.
Helldivers 2 is currently on pre-orders and will be out later today. It has not only managed to capture a wide range of PC audiences but is also the number one most pre-ordered game on PlayStation 5 in almost all regions.
