60FPS For Unreal Engine 5 Title!

With the gaming industry slowly moving beyond last-generation consoles, a new wave of Unreal Engine 5 games is set to brace the PS5 and Xbox Series S|X consoles. Among these games, Immortals of Aveum is leading the charge for the new engine.

Boasting cutting-edge visuals and features like Lumen, Immortals of Aveum is no slouch when it comes to hardware requirements. However, the game’s demanding nature has not prevented Ascendant Studios from offering a performance mode on consoles.

According to a new blog post, the Unreal Engine 5 title runs at 60FPS on PS5 and Xbox Series S|X.

Why it matters: 60FPS is the new standard for console gaming, but various recent releases have begun to show performance hitches. This has led to concern about 30FPS becoming the standard once current-generation hardware is fully adopted.

Due to its heavy reliance on Unreal Engine 5, Immortals of Aveum makes use of FSR2 upscaling to strike a balance between visuals and performance.

On consoles, the game will be upscaled to the maximum display resolution of each user, leading to a sharper image. However, Ascendant Studios has not elaborated on the internal resolution yet.

From the beginning, Immortals of Aveum was built to be scalable across a wide range of hardware. This design philosophy is also highlighted in the game’s updated PC requirements.

Previously, the developer recommended a GeForce RTX 3080 Ti at the high end, but the updated requirements suggest Nvidia and AMD’s best graphics cards for the optimal experience at 4K resolution.

Immortals of Aveum System Requirements

Capable graphics cards like the GeForce RTX 2080 Super and AMD Radeon RX 5700XT are recommended for 1080p60FPS gameplay.

This suggestion also takes upscaling into account, so it will be interesting to see how the consoles, particularly the Xbox Series S, stack up against this type of hardware.

Not too long ago, Ascendant Studios confirmed that Immortals of Aveum had gone gold, and the latest update about 60FPS marks yet another encouraging piece of information about the FPS title ahead of its official release on August 22.
