Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty Early Player Impressions Are Very Positive

Feels More Alive Than Base Game!

Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty has a high bar to meet. CD Projekt Red is known for its quality DLC releases for The Witcher 3, leading to hopes that the studio will continue this tradition for its latest title.

Recently, Cyberpunk 2077 made a strong comeback, with CD Projekt Red highlighting the positive reviews on Steam from recent players. Phantom Liberty seeks to continue this momentum through another memorable experience.

While the expansion is set to release on September 26, a recent tour in Poland has allowed players to get hands-on time with the DLC. This has also led to new information, with early impressions being extremely promising and hinting at a more alive world.

Why it matters: The expansion was promised to bring major improvements over Cyberpunk’s core gameplay. This included changes to gameplay systems, and the studio’s efforts appear to have been successful.

A Redditor recently shared impressions of the expansion after the tour.

The Reddit post had many questions from curious fans of CD Projekt Red’s work. One fan was interested in learning if the studio had made improvements to NPCs and interactions in the open world.

When asked if Dogtown felt more alive than other districts, the player claimed that early impressions with interactions from NPCs, vendors, and more were very positive. As such, this might be one of the most notable improvements over the base game.

The studio’s previous work, The Witcher 3, excelled in this department. It has often been called the gold standard for the RPG genre, and much of this praise can be attributed to the living, breathing, open world.

CD Projekt Red’s gameplay and UI changes also appear to have made a massive difference. The Redditor claims that Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty feels enhanced in multiple aspects.

These enhancements include changes to the UI, skill trees, and more. All of this should add up to a meaningful difference to the core experience of Cyberpunk 2077.

Unfortunately, players were only given an hour with the game, leading to limited experience. Still, early impressions have many excited for the next big chapter of Cyberpunk 2077.
